Gastrointestinal Conditions
Gastrointestinal Conditions involve your pet’s digestive tract, whose job it is to break down food, absorb nutrients, and get rid of waste. When the GI tract isn’t functioning properly, it can lead to chronic discomfort, poor nutrient absorption, and significant disruption to your pet’s overall health.
Common conditions include:
Gastroenteritis - inflammation of the stomach and intestines causing vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain
Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) - a chronic condition where the intestines stay inflamed, leading to weight loss, diarrhea, or vomiting
GI Obstruction - an emergency situation when something (like a toy or a bone) blocks the intestines
Food allergies or sensitivities - can cause GI upset, gas, or itchy skin
