Endoscopy
Endoscopy is a medical procedure veterinarians use to examine the inside of an animal’s body without surgery. It involves inserting a thin, flexible camera into a pet’s digestive tract, airways, or other internal areas.
The procedure involves a tiny camera inserted into the targeted internal area, where it captures live images displayed on a screen. These images allow us to examine for inflammation, tumors, abnormal growths, foreign objects, or other concerns. If needed, small tools can be used to remove objects, take biopsies, or perform minor treatments.
Common scoping procedures include:
Gastrointestinal Endoscopy
Bronchoscopy
Rhinoscopy
Cytoscopy
Esophagoscopy
Colonoscopy
Vaginoscopy
Endoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure usually performed under sedation or anesthesia. There are no large incisions and pets recover quickly. It is often used to help diagnose conditions like digestive disorders, airway issues, and foreign object ingestion, ensuring pets receive the best possible care with minimal recovery time.
