Oncology & Cancer Care

Cancer is one of the most common serious health issues in older pets. Our team works alongside or in place of veterinary oncologists to diagnose and manage cancer—especially when the case is complex, involves multiple systems, or requires advanced diagnostics.

Common cancers include:

  • Lymphoma - a cancer of the lymph nodes or lymphatic system, common in both dogs and cats

  • Mast Cell Tumors - a type of skin cancer that can be aggressive or benign

  • Hemangiosarcoma - a fast-growing cancer of the blood vessel, often found in the spleen or heart

  • Insulinoma - a tumor of the pancreas that causes dangerously low blood sugar

  • Nasal tumors

Diagnostics commonly include bloodwork, fine needle aspirates or biopsies, ultrasound, CT scans, X-rays, and endoscopy.

Treatment often includes surgery for tumor removal and/or chemotherapy.

Early diagnosis and a tailored treatment plan can make a big difference. The goal of cancer treatment is often to extend quality of life, not just time. Our team can help your pet live as comfortably and fully as possible.
